Dennis Jones Band: We3 (Live)

Dennis Jones & Dennis Jones Band

13 original fan favorites + 1 cover, recorded live at Beaver Creek Brewery, Wilbaux, MT

The genre is contemporary blues, and Jones plays serious guitar with the heart of a bluesman and the soul of a Baptist minister. Oscar Jordan. Vintage Guitar Magazine!

I was born and raised in the small town of Monkton, Maryland, population 4,856. My family didn’t have much money, but we always had what we needed. Monkton was a great place for a kid to grow up. The area is known for its horse farms, sprawling countryside, and old, stately homes set back from the country roads. It’s beautiful.

Some weekends, my family would go to my grandparents’ place, which was literally, over the river and through the woods. Pop-Pop kept an old acoustic guitar in the corner, and I’d get excited whenever he’d pick it up and strum on it. I can still picture him sipping a glass of dandelion wine that he’d made a few years before, and sharing his amazing stories and adventures from his youth.

At age 13, I got my first guitar on Christmas day and started writing songs soon after. Thankfully, my mom and dad were very supportive of my music. After I finished all of my chores for the day, they would let me play and practice as long as I wanted. My parents were happy that music kept me off the streets and out of trouble. By age 16, I was in my first band, playing rock & roll covers at my high school teen centers and “barn parties.”

High school graduation was a highlight because my parents helped me throw a huge party at our house. My band performed, and our entire graduating class showed up. We found kids sleeping in our yard the next morning. Suddenly my older brother and younger sister thought I was cool.

I had big dreams and I was eager to explore the world outside of Monkton, so I left my small town at age 18 to join the military. Stationed in Germany for a few years, I was exposed to a whole new culture. I played in bands and attended some of the greatest concerts in my life, from Rufus Thomas to Rory Gallagher. I also fell head over heels in love.

Then life took over. I first lived with my wife in Baltimore County, and a few years later, we moved to Los Angeles. As a mixed race couple, not everyone welcomed us, but we managed. I wrote songs and played music on weekends, and worked a day job. After almost a decade, our marriage ended, but fortunately we remain friends today.

Around the same time, I started digging deeper into “the Blues.” I realized that the main influences of all my favorite bands had come from the blues. So I started a journey to discover the music that my people created through the pain and suffering of slavery, and then later abandoned, for the most part.

I continued to work for many years as an elevator technician, and toured part-time with my band, often traveling great distances. When I got laid off from my job, it provided the perfect opportunity to pursue what I had always known I was meant to do – MUSIC!

I’m so grateful to be a full-time, touring musician, and student for life. I never take it for granted. It’s not an easy life, but it sure is gratifying to connect with thousands of people a year through my songs and a shared passion for music. I’m proud to have released 5 original blues rock CDs to date, all with great reviews. The new LIVE CD will be released in August 2018. I love what I do, and I wouldn’t trade one minute of it.

Both Sides of the Track

Dennis Jones

Original Contemporary American Blues Rock Guitar Drivin' Music.

This is my fifth album on Blue Rock Records. I wrote nineteen songs for this album and picked my favorites. We've been playing some of these songs for a while, they transferred well in the studio. A few songs kicked my ass, but I'm very happy with the results. I have a great new band and the support of musicians and friends that I've known and played with over the years. Thank you all for supporting independent artist like myself. Life's too short enjoy the ride!!!

My Kinda Blues

Dennis Jones

Eclectic Blues /Rock Music. No two songs sound the same. All based in the tradition of the blues.

This is my fourth release on Blue Rock Records. I strive to grow and evolve as a musician and songwriter with every new album, and the music on My Kinda Blues is evidence of this. Blues music is the root of what I write and play, as always. I'm very fortunate to work with an unbelievably talented band, and to have a few reknowned guest blues artists play on this CD. Much of this album was recorded live and raw with only one over dub guitar track. I didn't try to reinvent the blues; I just wanted to do what I was feeling in my heart, and hearing in my head. Hope you enjoy it. Thank you.

The new release "Pleasure & Pain" from Blues artist Dennis Jones has something for everyone that enjoys this style of music. This is Dennis' third release on his own label Blue Rock Records. If you've heard the first two CD's you already know you're in for a great musical experience as this CD represents the continuing maturity of Dennis'song writing, guitar playing and musical style. Starting with the swinging sound of "Brand New Day" to the pulsating "Don't Worry About Me" and the jump blues of "I'm Good" there's one thing that ties them all together and that's the Blues. All the songs are original compositions adding to what's already a stable of songs from this exciting artist. Passion For The Blues

Dennis Jones

Exciting blues rock compilation that is close as you can get to seeing Dennis Jones live.

"Passion For The Blues" is Dennis Jones second release on Blue Rock Records. This compilation of tunes sticks to a blues rock format with a few exceptions. All but two of the ten tracks are originals, but don't expect the covers to sound like the original versions. Dennis thrives on performing live and hopes this CD will give you a good idea what that experience is all about.

Falling Up

Dennis Jones

A mixture of electric & acoustic modern blues. Get ready for a musical journey full of expressive vocals with lyrics we all can understand. With whispers of Buddy Guy to echos of Hendrix, these songs are straight from the heart.

Dennis began his music career in his early teens in Baltimore County, Maryland and played guitar in several cover and original bands throughout his youth. Later he relocated to Europe for a few years and played with notable blues and R&B bands. For over ten years Dennis has fronted the Dennis Jones Band and has played many blues clubs and festivals in California, Arizona, Nevada and elsewhere around the country.

"Falling Up" is Dennis' first release on Blue Rock Records. The music on this CD takes you on a musical journey full of expressive vocals and heartfelt lyrics matched with a line up of highly talented musicians that help each song reach their full musical potential. The music's a mixture of electric and acoustic blues with flavors of rock, jazz and country. Dennis' playing will remind you of some of the best and most exciting blues guitarists of our time.

If you have the opportunity, you must see Dennis Jones live. Dennis makes a point of giving the audience 110% every time he hits the stage. When you hear his music and see him live, you will understand how refreshing it is to have such a talented and versatile artist in a sometimes stale and repetitive blues market.
